(Challenge)

A groundbreaking legal database is only useful if people can actually navigate it.

The tracker needed to present complex legal data -- hundreds of statutes across 50 states, spanning multiple policy sectors -- in a way that researchers, advocates, and policymakers could actually use.

The site also had to communicate the weight and credibility of the coalition behind it.

(Approach)

We built a site that makes serious legal research feel accessible without dumbing it down.

Clean structure, intuitive navigation, and an interactive map give users multiple entry points into the data -- by state, by sector, by issue.

The design reflects the authority of the institutions behind the project while keeping the focus squarely on the work.
